What We Believe

Rooted in Scripture. Grounded in Historic Baptist Confession. Centered on Christ.

Calvary Baptist Church is a General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GARBC) congregation committed to the authority, sufficiency, and inerrancy of the Word of God. We seek to faithfully proclaim and practice the historic Christian faith as revealed in Scripture and expressed through the historic Baptist tradition.

As a Baptist church, we gladly affirm the New Hampshire Confession of Faith and the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689) as faithful summaries of biblical doctrine and valuable expressions of our Baptist and valued expressions of our historic Baptist heritage. We also affirm the GARBC Articles of Faith, which reflect our historic fellowship and ministry commitments.

These confessional documents serve us as theological guides and summaries of what we believe Scripture teaches, while the Bible alone is our final and supreme authority for faith and practice.

Our theology is marked by a high view of Scripture, the sovereignty and grace of God in salvation, the centrality and supremacy of Jesus Christ, the necessity of the new birth, the proclamation of the gospel, and the call for believers to pursue holiness and faithful obedience. We seek to combine careful biblical exposition, theological conviction, evangelistic urgency, and practical Christian living.

In all that we believe and do, our desire is simple: to know Christ, faithfully proclaim Christ, and live for the glory of Christ.
